"etico, Inc. commenced the development of encryption products in 1993. The first project was to design a customised chip to implement the complex GOST28147-89 encryption algorithm. Our LS06 RISC cryptoprocessor achieved a top performance on the market.

In 1994 we designed encryption hardware for personal computers based on the LS06C20 cryptoprocessor.

BestCrypt software was developed step by step beginning from a command-line encryption utility for DOS to 32-bit software for Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP and to a modern 64-bit versions of Windows Vista/XP/Windows Server 2003.

For the last eight years we have been working also on a line of secure data deleting software - BCWipe and BCWipePD. The software is now in use by a number of government agencies around the world. We are often asked to provide referencies on the agencies, but not always we have a right to do that according to corresponding agreements. For instance, since the fact was published in US press, we can say that the software was used by Bill Clinton administration in White House.

Versions of BestCrypt and BCWipe are developed for Linux operating system, since for the last years governments of several countries consider migrating to the operating system.
